FAQ
-
Is your practice affiliated with any healthcare system or company?
We are 100% independent, and this translates to a non-corporate, inviting atmosphere that is free of bureaucracy, allowing us to focus solely on patient care. Additionally, there is no hindrance with obtaining medical reports from any other facility, as we are able to easily access all health records from the various health care systems in our area. Our lack of affiliation to a larger system also enables our referral choices to be free of any bias, and there is no encouragement for us to refer when not absolutely necessary.
-
Are referrals frequently done?
Over many years, Doug Mattingly and Thad Riley have a developed a very broad scope of practice, which is a tribute to both their experience and their passion about their ongoing acquisition of medical information. Although the vast majority of issues can be fully handled by us, referring to a specialist is done when truly needed, and we can work with you to select the best specialists at that time.
-
What capabilities and procedures can be done in your practice?
We have an in-house laboratory for many point of care labs, swabs, urinalysis, etc. We can also do any detailed labs needed through LabCorp, which can be viewed by you through our portal. When indicated, we perform EKG’s, shots for headaches/ B12/ Testosterone/ cortisone/ antibiotics/ nausea, Flu Shots, nebulizer treatments, and ear irrigation. Our providers also can provide when needed the following: dermatological procedures (such as excisions or cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen), cortisone shots into most joints or bursae, ingrown toenail removal with matrix ablation, and trigger point injections.
-
Do you make hospital rounds?
Our goal is to keep our patients out of the hospital, and we are very successful at this through being proactive with preventative health— as well as providing quick accessibility to us to resolve medical issues when they are first beginning. Although we do not make hospital rounds, we have hospitalists that work with us at each of the hospitals. Also, when emergent issues do occur, we can often call ahead to update the ER physician in an effort to expedite care.
-
Are you able to help with weight loss or hormones?
Yes, we are very adept at these issues, and we can initiate treatment when it is truly indicated. For example, we can start bio-equivalent hormone replacement for postmenopausal women or Testosterone for men or women who are deficient, after discussing risks/ benefits/ goals of treatment. There are also a myriad of weight loss possibilities, which can be undertaken when indicated after an extensive discussion on the topic.
-
How can I afford the membership?
Most of our patients report a great cost savings in regard to their medical expenditures. In general, there are much less ER visits, Immediate Care visits, and referrals— and there are even cost saving strategies for a good deal of medications that can be instituted. In addition, there is a tremendous time savings provided not only by the above but also through quick resolutions of health issues when they arise due to our accessibility.
